Former psychiatric nurse who worked in Cabarrus and Union County for the Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT). We were underfunded and yet did our best to protect those from vulnerable communities with mental health needs. Mental illness was a frequent example of where current policing can go wrong. The Orange County Sheriff's office has a database of citizens with mental or physical issues that require a different physical approach called "Josh’s Hope and Life Track". Do we know if it is still being used for 911 calls, how it is used and if other departments in the area have access to its information?
